Every Year the Raven Falls In Love
By Marge Simon
Because she's beautiful
he falls in love with her,
hair dark as the blood on his feathers --
a mute reminder of his ways,
she sings his name and they
are as one, and one alike.
Because she's beautiful
in her righteousness,
human and not, poised
like flames on wind, to fly.
