The Love Note That Was Called A Different Name

Do not, not ever, say it, especially if you do;
keep it like ore, heavy, hidden in dark places;
I want it for its shine
but the burden of it would make me stop mid‐flight,
fall with it, clutch it, hold it
while waiting for the impact.

Alexandra Seidel writes poems and stories of things born from imagination and dreams. Some of her work can be found in Goblin Fruit, Mythic Delirium, Strange Horizons, and elsewhere. If you are so inclined you can follow Alexa on Twitter (@Alexa_Seidel) or read her blog.
