Stuti Telidevara

a weather witch's vengeance

You think the worst you can see is a storm;
you do not know the power of sun,
of dazzling brightness, of a dryness that puckers all to sour citrus.
I will crisp your bones with my heat,
I will swallow your mind whole with this fire
and watch as you stumble,
parched,
famished, repentant.
Soon you will learn not to wrong
that which you can never understand.

Stuti Telidevara is a high school student hailing from Bangalore, India. This will be her first publication, but you can find more of her strange thoughts and stranger words at August Rain.
